High visibility safety blister pack

October 11, 2022

SCA Consumer Packaging (formerly Alloyd Inc., DeKalb, Ill., booth number S-1466) developed a new high-visibility safety blister package. Using this packaging mall, you can hang the product for customers to watch at close range. Safely sealed transparent blisters can both display products and display product sales information, allow consumers to hold the package in their hands and watch it carefully, and also prevent thieves from opening the package to incorporate the product into the private bag. This new type of blisters can also add EAS tags to further increase safety.

Although these blister packs can effectively protect valuable goods and show them more to consumers, they cannot be applied to all products that require security protection. And the increasing use of safe blister packs (such as welded closures) on goods has caused many buyers to react negatively, and they hate to go home and must use extreme methods to open the package. It is necessary to protect the safety of the product but also to open it to please consumers. These two kinds of packaging requirements create contradictions.

This contradiction caused SCA to rethink its blister package design goals.

Ken Sullivan, director of marketing at SCA, said: “We are concerned with the purpose of the packaging, not the design of the blisters or the blister itself. What do marketers need? Better security, building brand differentiation, or ease The convenience of customer contact and trials? Their needs determine our packaging design."

After rethinking, SCA produced a custom high-visit retail package (custom high-vis retail Paks, product name will be registered), including Promo-Label Pak, Multi-Pak and Trapped Try-Me Pak. Each product is specifically designed to help customers achieve some of the main requirements for packaging. There are also some new blister packs that leave a gap in the back card for consumers to disassemble. This kind of package is suitable for products with low value and not easy to steal. Some packages also have a removable flap on the back card so that consumers can easily open it and store it at home more easily. According to Sullivan, providing customers with the most convenience is the unsealed blister package used by Radio Shack. In Radio Shack's small shop, the clerk is always at the customer's side. Radio Shack wants the customer to open the package to see if it is what they need. If not, the customer simply closes the package.
